Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Thriving & Surviving
The North Atlantic Region is pleased to celebrate our sorors who have fought and/or are fighting the battle of breast cancer. As THRIVERS of this vicious disease, we applaud their efforts to pursue life with passion, perseverance, and purpose. The F.I.R.S.T. administration has launched a new Breast Cancer initiative, F.I.R.S.T. Person, where survivors across the North Atlantic Region, share their truth about surviving breast cancer. As you read their stories and celebrate their successes, please be mindful of your own health. According to the American Cancer Society, only 25 percent of African-American women have recently discussed breast health with their family, friends, or colleagues and only 17 percent have taken steps to understand their risk for breast cancer. Make sure you are screened for breast cancer and have an honest dialogue with family and friends.
Together, we can make a difference!
