Project 1908
The 116-year history of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® underscores our vital role as stalwarts in the ongoing struggle for democracy. From the ballot box to public service, sorors of the North Atlantic Region put public service and social action FIRST!
As we approach this historic election, Project 1908 highlights how sorors are uniting in solidarity and mobilizing their communities around critical issues—education, healthcare, voting rights, economic security, criminal justice, climate change, and more. Everything is on the ballot! The North Atlantic Region is committed to harnessing our political power, raising our voices, and soaring F.I.R.S.T. to the polls
"If they don't give you a seat at the table, don't pull up a chair. Build a new table." - Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, United States Representative (MA-07)
An informed voter is a prepared voter. From Maine to Washington, D.C., sorors are answering First Lady Michelle Obama’s call to “Do Something.” The F.I.R.S.T. Administration is at work - Registering, Educating, and Mobilizing; ensuring you have the tools to amplify your voices and harness our collective impact. From the 2024 International Public Policy Forum to the 61st National Convention of the National Council of Negro Women, Alpha Kappa Alpha women are on the frontlines of change–advocating for justice, defending democracy, and ensuring every vote counts.
Are you ready, sorors? Take action with these steps:
