The F.I.R.S.T. Edition
Letters from our Editors

The AKA Queendom Reigns F.I.R.S.T. issue is the first installment of the second volume of The F.I.R.S.T. Edition. This issue celebrates Alpha Kappa Alpha’s Queendom, which has endured for 116 years. Under the F.I.R.S.T. Administration, the 93rd North Atlantic Regional Conference was a regal affair that, once again, reminded the world that the Notable North Atlantic Region reigns FIRST in sisterhood and service. This issue invites sorors to travel through the AKA Queendom, traveling back through the years with the Living Legends Traveling Exhibit and hearing from our Queen Mothers–The Diamond and Pearl sorors. The issue highlights how our region upholds the Queen Code: Fellowship, Innovation, Respect, Serve, and Thrive! Ultimately, this issue honors our region’s legacy and celebrates our Regional Director, Soror Elicia Pegues Spearman and the F.I.R.S.T. Administration, our NARC hosts from Cluster IV, and all North Atlantic sorors who wear their crowns and reign FIRST in sisterhood, service, leadership, and community!
Soror Brittney L. Yancy, Editor-in-Chief
Epsilon Omicron Omega

The unspoken crowns we wear in our everyday and professional lives are a testament to our power, capability, and agency. With every act of service, we inadvertently pass our crows down to our daughters and sisters, thereby creating a world where sisterliness, mentorship, leadership, and stewardship is the running currency, is valued and ultimately, sustained. With our voices, vision, and skill, the sorors of the Notable North Atlantic Region will continue to co-create a 'Queendom' where our beloved sorority can thrive beyond our wildest imagination.
